Pair of Aesthetic Period Side Chairs
REF: TSP1059 / LA335496
Pair of walnut Aesthetic Movement side chairs dating to the late Victorian period. The chair backs feature very decorative triangular leaf carved central panels to the crested head rails. Incised decoration is found along the top part of the uprights, including incised fan decorations on the ears of the uprights, on the crested mid rails and on every corner of the seat rails above the forelegs. The seats stand on outswept hind legs and beautifully turned forelegs. The sprung seat in each chair is fully traditionally re-upholstered from the frame by The Sitting Place. The fabric chosen for these chairs is Winslow fabric by iLiv in an indigo colour scheme that beautifully complements the walnut of the chairs. This set of charming chairs would look lovely when paired up with a breakfast/supper table where room space is limited or even placed on either side of a hall table or sideboard. Table and accessories are for display purposes only.
The Sitting Place has clarified that the Pair of Aesthetic Period Side Chairs (LA335496) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1890
Good original condition, lovely patina, various scuffs commensurate with past use and age in particular on the hind legs, small past superficial repair to one of the uprights of the chair backs (please see photo).
