Description
A handsome and unusual pair of Art Deco period side chairs, these are of amazing quality and are solid mahogany throughout.
They are stamped beneath the seat: 1937 H(F)Ltd and have the royal stamp of approval from the king at the time Edward VIII. They may have even been made for part of the coronation of King George VI as that took place early in 1937 as Kind Edward had abdicated by the end of 1936; though they are not the commonly seen coronation chairs from the service.
They are very well made and heavy for their size, they are actually very slightly different when you look closely, suggesting they were hand made and not factory made.
We have had these stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb for their age.
