Description
These are a pair of mantel ornaments made from thick sheet brass which has been hand cut into the form of a pair of ladies boots in the Georgian fashion. The boots have punched lace hole detailing and they sit on a shaped semi-cylindrical base.

Wessex House Antiques has clarified that the Pair of Brass Boot Mantel Ornaments c.1820 (LA132721) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1820
condition
The boots have been worn to soft edging from about 200 years of polishing ! Because the brass is thick cut they still hold their shape and detailing, being very solid and comparatively weighty. They are therefore in excellent condition for their age (one just needs a bit more polishing to bring it up to the shine of the other). Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and quality of these interesting items.
