Description
Pair of Lamps from Hms Ark Royal
* Restored, Rewired & Pat Tested
This pair of lamps was salvaged and fully restored, rewired and Pat Tested and as wall lights they create an interesting and unique light fitting. They would be very well suited in a range of either domestic or commercial settings and would certainly provide an interesting discussion point with their provenance and history.
Affectionately known as The Mighty Ark, Hms Ark Royal was the fifth Royal Navy ship to have borne the name of the 1587 flagship that defeated the Spanish Armada in 1588. Hms Ark Royal was a light aircraft carrier and former flagship of the Royal Navy and was a vessel of the Invincible class. She was built by Swan Hunter on the River Tyne and launched by them in 1981. Ark Royal was christened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. After Ark Royal's decommissioning, she was sold for scrap and left Portsmouth in May 2013 and the salvaged items off the ship were extremely sought after.
