Description
Pair of antique cast iron metal stands that we can only assume to be barrel stands. They're not connected but have large slots at each end which probably housed batons which were used to lift the barrels in and out. And quite large barrels at that: used at the production stage probably, in a brewery or distillery. The age is a bit difficult to tell but the general condition and the style, using the quatrefoil holes, suggest it is possibly late 1800s. A maker's initials "Ktb" are cast in them but I have no idea who they are: a foundry in Birmingham or Manchester I expect. Dimensions: 69cm x 13cm x 25cm high
