This is a charming matched pair of late 19th-century Dutch Delft pottery cows, dating to circa 1880–1900. Each cow is traditionally modelled standing upon a rectangular plinth and decorated by hand in the classic Delft blue and white palette, with attractive floral motifs and distinctive spotted markings. A wonderfully decorative pair with plenty of character, displaying beautifully together and ideal for a collection of antique Delftware or European ceramics. Note: Each piece is in good antique condition overall, with age-related wear and minor imperfections commensurate with their age. Both cows have some cosmetic imperfections/damage to the ears, as clearly shown in the photographs. These do not detract greatly from the overall appearance, and the pair continues to display very well.
