Pair of Minton Porcelain Candlestick Figures Flower & Fruit Sellers Figural Candlesticks

A fine quality pair of Minton porcelain figural candlesticks of a male fruit seller and his female flower seller companion. Stood on unusual rococo style shaped bases with ornate candle sticks modelled as bundles of reeds and bulrushes and finishing with scrolled decoration around the sconces. Decorated in a rich puce pink enamel with small white reserved areas and all highlighted with gilding. The figures are very well modelled, with very detailed work to the fruit and flowers and decorated in Minton's typical style in a kaleidoscope of colours with an extraordinary level of detail to the patterned fabrics; no manufacturer put more time and effort into their figure decoration than Minton.
