Pair of Upholstered High Back Armchairs with Heraldic Designs

A handsome pair of high back armchairs in the French style, these have large, comfortable seats with a tapestry upholstery showing a heraldic design. They will look wonderful in a large entrance hall, or a good size dining room at either end of a large table. - Carved throughout, with decorative faces on the apron. - Tapestry upholstery, with a unicorn on one back and a lion rampant on the other, both with Fleur de Lys, suggestive of Scottish, English and French symbolism. - Decorative cross stretchers. - Ornate metal upholstery studs. - Wide, comfortable sprung seats. - Colours in red, yellow, green and orange. In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There are some minor signs of historical woodworm and some wear to the tapestry.
