Victorian Mahogany Chiffonier Bookcase A handsome Victorian mahogany bookcase of classic proportions, offering excellent storage and timeless appeal. Constructed in two sections, this attractive piece features a moulded cornice top above a glazed upper bookcase and practical cupboard base. The upper section is fitted with a pair of glazed doors with decorative leaded detailing, opening to reveal three adjustable shelves. Two of the shelves are slimmer and appear to be later replacements, while the lower shelf is deeper and more substantial. The doors retain a working lock and key. The lower section offers further useful storage with two drawers fitted with brass drop handles above a double-door cupboard. Inside is a single shelf, with the cupboard doors retaining their working lock and key. A versatile antique piece, ideal for books, display, dining room storage or use in a study. Condition: Solid and sturdy overall with age-related wear and marks throughout. Signs of Historic woodworm which has been fully treated. The left-hand side of the base plinth has some veneer loss and a stable small split as photographed - remains solid and sturdy. General wear consistent with age and use.
