Description
A stunning vintage 1950's 2.05 carat diamond and pearl plique a jour brooch in 14ct yellow gold; part of our diverse antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections
This stunning, fine and impressive vintage pearl, diamond & enamel brooch has been crafted in 14ct yellow gold.
This pearl brooch has been modelled in the form of a flower head with fifteen overlapping pointed petals.
The setting is ornamented with a central stunning 12.5mm cultured pearl.
The principle pearl is encompassed with ten pointed petal designs each accented with three pavé set transitional modern brilliant round cut diamonds.
This arched main petal design are each embellished with blue coloured plique-à-jour* enamel panels.
The swept terminal to each petal is further embellished with a four pavé set transitional modern brilliant round cut diamonds, completing the design.
The 14ct yellow gold set brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp, hallmarked with the maker's mark 'JROCA'**.
This vintage pearl and diamond brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 14ct yellow gold.
This impressive floral brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
NOTES:
* Plique-à-jour is a vitreous enamelling technique similar in technical execution to cloisonné, where the enamel is applied to defined 'cells' within a metal filigree. With plique-à-jour, there is no backing to the design, allowing light to pass through the enamelwork, suggestive of stained glass. Plique-à-jour is derived from the French 'braid letting in daylight'.
** In 1888 Jacinto Roca founded 'J.Roca Joyero' and started her renowned innovative jewellers in Barcelona, Spain. In the present day the work of J.Roca is supported by The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (The National Museum of Catalan Visual Art).
