Petite Carved Camphor Wood Chest
This Beautiful Little Carved Chest is made from Camphor Wood. For those of you who do not know camphor wood it looks a little like Mahogany, it is a hard wood which lends itself very well to carving.
However the main reason for using camphor wood is its fragrance. It smells a bit like Eucalyptus and this most attractive of smells repels moths hence its common use in the best quality Blanket Boxes.
The carvings are mainly of Oriental Warriors on horse back, the chest is carved on every side, it stands on small bracket feet and it is clean inside.
The Chest is in good condition, it is 29” long x 16” high and 14” deep.
