Pocket Watch: Antique Silver Cyma Pocket Watch 1917

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, identified as by Cyma, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratching. The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Glasgow 1917 with a sponsor’s mark for James Weir who was listed as a watch maker, chronometer maker to the Admiralty, silversmith and jeweller. The front of the case is in good condition. There is a “ding” to the side, and gentle unevenness to the back. The glass lens has a couple of small chips to the edge but not overly noticeable to the naked eye. Some white reflection showing in the photos. The dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
