Description
The watch has a high grade movement with diamond end stones, screw set jewels in gold chatons and a graduated snail regulator. The movement is signed with the Omega name, and it carries the serial number 4030950 which dates it back to 1912. Similar grade movements were supplied for Canadian railway pocket watches although the gilt finish on this particular movement suggests it was made for the English market.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside all three covers. The date letter is difficult to read but looks like London 1913. There is also the SA mark which stands for Selling Agency, watch importers, together with the early Omega mark. The case is in lovely condition with crisp engine turned detail, perhaps a hint of unevenness to the back but very slight.
The front cover has a small central lens surrounded by blue enamel filled Roman numerals.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition, some reflection showing in the photos.
The dial has a couple of faint hairlines coming from number 3. Gold hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
