Pocket Watch: Antique Silver Omega Pocket Watch & Chain

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 5,575,615 which dates it back to 1916. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover. The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the back covers for Birmingham 1924 which suggests the movement has been replaced with a period movement at some point. The case was made for Omega by the English case maker Aaron Dennison. To avoid heavy import taxes, Omega commissioned Dennison to manufacture their cases in the UK. The case is in good condition, minor marking to the back but nothing serious at all. The cartouche has the initials of a previous owner. The glass lens is in lovely condition. The dial is in beautiful condition. It is signed Omega and also has the name of the original retailer, H B Hammond, Shirley. The watch comes with a single chain, 30cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The T-bar and clasp are hallmarked for Birmingham 1924, the same as the case. Also included is a silver gilt and enamel domino fob from the Cleethorpes Domino League. The chain and fob weigh 36g. The watch and chain come in a vintage presentation box.
