Description
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Zenith and it has a brevet (or patent) number 27541 which relates to a 1904 patent, applied for by Hermann Roost, for a cam disc regulator.
The movement also carries the serial number 1663010 which dates it back to around 1913.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has details of various medals won, and also details of the movement.
The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are Continental hallmarks inside the case back. Overall the case is in good condition for a piece of its age, some slight unevenness to the back. There are traces of the original gold plate wash which would have run around the edge of the watch.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The dial has a small patch of damage underneath the centre, and some faint radiating hairlines.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
