Victorian Gentleman's large brass antique swivel compass fob with unusual white and red agate stone to back of case.
(Please excuse all the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph).
Measures; 4.1cm height (including the top ring), 3cm width, 8mm depth and weighs a very respectable 12.1 grams.
Chunky and highly ornate big brass fob having an attractive half moon and finial ball decoration, holding securely within the swivel mounted drum case a compass to the front which has an ivory coloured paper dial with 'sunburst' design to centre, black directional markers and blued and silver steel needle/pointer which moves freely.
Original celluloid lense which has become slightly opaque over the years.
To the back is a circular white agate stone (could be glass) with a very unusual red circumference to the bevel edge.
Big robust brass top ring to attach to a pocket watch chain.
Lovely condition with just some light overall wear/patina/surface scratches and internal dust specs to the lense - all commensurate with age.
Will arrive in a new velvet presentation pouch and be securely and safely packed.
