Pocket Watch Chain Fob 18ct Gold Plated Victorian 1890s Large Antique Shield Fob

Victorian Gentleman's large and highly impressive 18ct gold plated (stamped) Antique pocket watch chain shield fob. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 4.9cm height (including the top ring), 3.5cm width and weighs a respectable 8.3 grams. Attractive shield shaped fob which is beautifully decorated to the front with a slightly raised scrollwork and acanthus leaf decoration featuring a raised fancy un-engraved shield shaped cartouche to centre . The back is smooth, highly polished (free from any inscriptions or initials) and is stamped (somewhat rubbed); 18ct Gld Pld (18 carat gold plate) and carries the makers initials (within triangular shaped cartouches); J C. Original secure gold plated top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with a little bit of overall wear/patina, two casting 'flaws' to the back and light surface scratches commensurate with age.
