Gentleman's antique original Dennison Watch Case Co., Sovereign case fob for a pocket watch chain.
C~1920's (looks to have never been used and best one I have seen in 40 years).
(Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph).
Measures; 5.2 cm height (including the top ring), 3cm width, 1.4cm depth and weighs a heavy 22.5 grams.
Wonderful pocket watch shaped, highly polished silver nickel fob which is free from any inscriptions or initials.
The front cover opens up correctly to exactly 90 degrees when the top button is depressed - is slightly stiff from lack of use (I find it easier to open it in my left hand) and the inside is clearly and beautifully stamped in arched script; Trade Mark Dennison Watch Case Co and has their Trade symbols of a sun, crescent moon and star to centre.
Also numbered with a very low case number; 919.
To base is a spring loaded, engine turned raised disc (operates correctly and is very firm) with horseshoe shaped surround so allowing the wearer to securely hold a Sovereign or similar coin.
Around the circumference is stamped in bold script; English Make Guaranteed Solid Nickel.
Good sturdy hinge with no play whatsoever.
Original firm, correct screw fitted bow and large robust/secure big steel top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain.
Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear or damage and just a few extremely light and fine (absolutely micro) little surface (storage) scratches showing under eyeglass only.
Will arrive in a new velvet presentation pouch and be very securely and safely packed.
