Original antique golden gilt and multicoloured enamel Religious 'Band of Hope' large shield fob for a Gentleman's pocket watch chain.
Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios.
(Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph).
Measures; 4.2cm height (including the top ring), 3.3cm width and weighs a very respectable 6.3 grams.
Wonderful shield shaped golden gilt fob which is beautifully detailed to the front in Royal Blue, Cardinal red and white enamel (all in perfect condition with no chipping or fading) with the Holy Cross to top and bottom and is clearly stamped in gold arched enamel script; BAND OF HOPE (The Band Of Hope Temperance Society was founded in 1855 to teach the dangers of alcohol).
The back carries to centre an anchor surrounded by acanthus leaves with the Holy Cross above and below.
Robust and secure top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain.
Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear or damage and just a tiny (micro) bit of very light overall patina / fine surface scratches (all showing under eyeglass) commensurate with age.
Will arrive in a new velvet presentation pouch and be very securely and safely packed.
