Pocket Watch Chain Fob Victorian 9ct Rose Rolled Gold Antique Shield 1890s

Highly ornate Victorian 9ct rose rolled gold (stamped, professionally tested and known in the U.S.A as gold filled) Antique shield fob (by Henry Pope) for a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. C~1890s. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. *** Pocket watch shown is for display purposes only and NOT included *** (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 3.7cm height (including the top ring), 2.5cm width and weighs 4.8 grams. Attractive shield shaped fob which is beautifully adorned to the front with a heavy acanthus leaf and scroll work decoration, featuring a large fancy un-engraved shield cartouche to centre which is free from any inscriptions or initials. The back carries a slightly different acanthus leaf and scroll work adornment with a circular cartouche to centre (again un-engraved) and is clearly stamped; ROLLED GOLD with the makers intertwined initials below; HP (Henry Pope). Original rose rolled gold top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no damage or wear and just a tiny (micro) bit of overall patina and light surface scratches commensurate with age.
