Pocket Watch Chain Fob Vintage Brass Miners Pit Check Numbered 34

Gentleman's large brass Miners Vintage pit check fob for a pocket watch chain. Numbered; 34. C~ 1940's. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse all the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 3.5cm height (including the top ring), 3cm diameter and weighs 5.7 grams. Large brass circular shaped Miners pit check which was used in the mines as a safety check; Miners would hand them in upon entering the mine and retrieve them when leaving their shift. If any were still hung up it was assumed the Miner was still underground in case of emergency. Big robust secure brass top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with just a little bit of extremely light overall wear / patina / tiny surface scratches - all commensurate with age and use.
