Pocket Watch Chain Photograph Fob Sterling Silver 1978 Large Ornate Vintage Fob

Gentleman's large and highly impressive Sterling silver ornate photograph fob in the Victorian style. C ~ Hallmarked; Birmingham 1978. (Please excuse all the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. Measures; 5.4cm height (including the top ring), 3.3cm width and weighs a very respectable 11.6 grams. Wonderful oval shaped fob which is beautifully and elaborately adorned to the front with leaves and scroll work set upon the raised centre which surrounded by a very unusual 'pie crust' decoration to the circumference. The back is smooth, highly polished and free from any inscriptions or initials. Fully hallmarked (within different shaped, fancy recessed cartouches - slightly rubbed) with the silver purity; 925, Lion passant (Sterling silver), anchor (Birmingham assay) and fancy capital letter; D - dating her to 1978. Also stamped with the makers initials (again slightly rubbed) within a shield shaped cartouche; J.S. Opens up correctly, closing tightly with a very reassuring click and the hinge is true and firm with absolutely no play. Inside are two oval shaped compartments to display photographs of loved ones. One is lined with bottle green baise which can easily be removed if desired. Wide bail and secure top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no damage and just some extremely light and fine little overall surface scratches commensurate with age.
