Victorian Gentleman's absolutely magnificent (never come across anything like this in over 40 years) and highly impressive 12ct (professionally tested) rose gold filled (known in the U.K as rolled gold and has a lovely soft pink 'blush'), very unusual fancy link (possibly Masonic) Antique very large pocket watch chain / Albert with original screw dog clip, large T bar and original stone set fob.
C~ Dated 1867.
(Very rare now days to find one complete with all its original fittings).
Similar to the pocket watch chain I have supplied to 'Peaky Blinders'.
(Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph).
Measures; 34.5cm / 13 1/2" total length and weighs a hefty 59.3 grams (including the fob).
Very unusual highly polished four sided oblong shaped bar links (each measures 3cm length x 4.5mm square) which are beautifully adorned with an intertwined engine turned rope link to each end and a long engine turned 'nail' link to centre.
Interspersed with very elaborate engine turned bulbous links (again with intertwined rope links to each end) which look rather like Knights visors (same design to each side) - possibly Masonic (Knights Templar).
Original very large (measures 4.8cm length) and unusually shaped T bar to one end which has an attractive big engine turned 'beehive' detail to centre and again an engine turned 'nail' link running through both sides to compliment the chain links.
The T bar is suspended from a short length of oval link chain which in turn is attached to an attractive three hole daisy link.
Robust and well made original big secure scissor action dog clip to the other end which operates correctly by unscrewing the bail and pushing the hinged tongue outwards.
Stamped to one side in arched script; PAT.DEC.10.1867 (patented December 10th 1867).
Complete with the original fob (again suspended from a short length of oval link chain) - wonderful knot decoration to top (little bar tube running through) with leaves and scroll work around, holding to base a jet black, bevel edge oval onyx stone (measures 1.4cm x 1,1cm) with attractive white banding.
Excellent bright clean condition with no damage and just a little bit of very light overall wear / patina / fine surface scratches commensurate with age.
Will arrive in a new presentation/display box as shown and be very securely and safely packed.
