Pocket Watch Chain Victorian Large Brass Albert 1890s by Thomas Hopwood

Victorian Gentleman's large and highly impressive golden brass traditional graduated curb link antique pocket watch chain / albert (by Thomas Hopwood) with original big patented T bar and original patented swivel dog clip. Similar to the pocket watch chain I have supplied to 'Peaky Blinders'. (Rolled gold pocket watch shown is for display/size/colour shade only and Not included). Measures; 34cm / 13 1/4" total length and weighs a heavy 38.7 grams. Traditional chunky brass (golden blonde) graduated curb links (measure; 8mm width to centre and taper down each side to 4.5mm wide) - all have a lovely 'fluid' feel to them and reflect the light beautifully. The big fat central link is stamped to one side (within an oval shaped cartouche) with the makers initials (somewhat rubbed with the passage of time); T*H - Thomas Hopwood, Birmingham, England. Secure original brass swivel dog clip to one end (operates correctly) which is clearly stamped to the inside; Patent. Original very large brass T bar to the other end (measures 4.5cm length and is suspended from a short length of oval link chain) which is again clearly stamped; Patent. Also has a short length of curb link chain just below the T bar with original round link to end - so allowing the wearer to display a fob if desired. Excellent clean and bright condition with just a tiny (micro) bit of very light overall wear/patina and little surface scratches (all showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age.
