The watch has a 15-jewel Swiss stem-winding movement, identified as by Cyma, which is working nicely. The nickel regulator with Breguet hairspring is a later period replacement. The movement is signed with the name of the original retailer, J W Benson. It is all protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for London 1936 together with a sponsor’s mark for J W Benson. The case is in good condition, just light surface marks to the back, nothing too serious at all.
The watch glass is in good condition with just minor marks if viewed closely.
The signed dial is in good condition, just some light discolouration to the subsidiary seconds dial.
The watch comes with single Churchill style silver chain, 33cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Also included is a silver fob hallmarked for Birmingham 1938, awarded for the NALGO Newman Cup,1938-9, V Stoneman. The front of the fob has rose gold wash detail, a small patch of wear where it has rubbed.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
