The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which works well over a 24 hour period… over the original intended eight days, the time keeping starts to vary but as a regular 24 hour watch it is absolutely fine. The barrel which sits over the movement is beautifully detailed with information about the movement.
The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel plated. The front and sides are in good condition, just light wear to the plated finish. The back of the watch has a little unevenness and some marking.
The glass lens is in lovely condition (some white natural light reflection showing in the photos).
The dial is signed Jovis. The name Jovis was registered in 1920 by Leuenberger & Cie, a Swiss company who also had premises in New York. They were watch assemblers rather than manufacturers, buying in movements and cases to be finished to their specification. The dial has its original pin-set blued steel hands, hand gilded detail, an exposed balance and the wording ‘8 days’ in English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese. There is a hairline running from number 12 down to number 6.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
All prices include UK postage (excluding Northern Ireland).

All of our watches are checked over before listing and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
