This is a fabulous quality Nain carpet with silk highlights dating from around 1930. The finely woven carpet is extremely well drawn and has wonderful detail to the classic Nain design, further enhanced by the silk highlights used throughout the design.The carpet has an ornate central medallion in a flower filled field and deep borders. It has the typical colour palette of indigo, ivory and camel with highlights in red and lighter blue. A very smart carpet in excellent condition throughout, Nains are tightly woven with the finest of wools and are very hard wearing as well as stylish.
