This is the most Wonderful Gilt French Palais Royal and Mother of Pearl Table Bell, this really is a Stunning Antique with a Mother of Pearl Round Base and on this is a Beautiful Gilt Crown with lovely Pierced decoration all around, on this are 3 Beautiful Mother of Pearl Shells with Stunning reflective Colours to them and each one has a beaded Gilt Edging, and on each side of the Mother of Pearl Shells are Bunches of Vines of Grapes, above the Grapes are Pansy Flowers in between the Mother of Pearl Shells and the Pansy Flower was the Symbol for Palais Royal. the 3 Shells are connected at the top with a Gilt Bell Shape that has a Thumb Piece and Spring Attached. The Thumb Piece has a C shape and Ball Attachment and when pushed it rings the Bell inside the Gilt Crown Section, the sound of the Bell has a Beautiful loud Tone to it. the very top of the Mother of Pearl Gilt Bell is a Dove in flight that represents Peace which is Unique as most are missing these Birds, the Base of this Bell has a red lining but has worn, this is in Beautiful condition with just light surface wear, and whoever buys this will be delighted with the look and sound, it would have been owned by someone Wealthy in the early Victorian Period, when times were very different to today, and this would add something special to any collection.
