Description
This 19th Century antique solid sterling silver tea caddy spoon features a beautifully sculpted, fluted shell-form bowl attached to a classic fiddle pattern stem. The front of the handle terminal is finely embellished with a detailed, hand-engraved cursive monogram. On the reverse, the stem displays an exceptionally crisp and comprehensive set of provincial British hallmarks. These include the RW maker's mark, the duty mark depicting the sovereign's head in profile, the castle mark for the Exeter Assay Office, the lion passant guaranteeing sterling silver purity, and a distinct date letter stamp. Combining delicate Georgian craftsmanship with functional elegance, this well-preserved provincial spoon remains a highly collectible piece of early nineteenth-century British table silver.
