Description
This is a rare survivor, a beautiful hand fan made from bone (capilliary markings on bone clear and visible). The mount if formed from beige/gold silk shaped leaved which are sewn with silver sequins. The sticks are carved and pierced, inlaid with silver metal circles - some are missing.

Tales to Tell Antiques has clarified that the Rare Bone Hand Fan with Silk Leaves and Sequin Detail (LA458155) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being Late 19th Century
condition
Excellent condition. Leaves have light wear, a little staining and foxing. One stick has a small split and some silver dots are missing, all wear commensurate with age.
