A rare early Derby porcelain wine taster of circular form with moulded melon fluting to the outside with a concave lip just below the rim. An ornate shaped and moulded lug handle. Derby wine tasters with the shaped rim and cell border are all rarely found pieces, but this example is a much more unusual version in shape and decoration. c.1768-1770. Reference: Ceramics Of Derbyshire, Bradley, plate 222 for another example.
