Rare Derby Porcelain Figure Lady Sweetmeat Holder c.1765

A very rare Derby porcelain sweetmeat figure of a lady stood in front of a large bocage presenting an open rectangular hamper to her side. She wears a long skirt ornately decorated with gilt feathery foliage and small red berries, a pink blouse and an white pinafore with gilt border around the apron and a starred diaper pattern to the top.She has a small headband of flowers in her hair and holds a flower in her right hand. This figure is referenced alongside her male companion as Gallant and his Lady Sweetmeat Holders (ii) and documented as "very rare".
