Rare Early Worcester Porcelain Blue & White Early Peony Print Cream Jug c.1758
A lovely Worcester porcelain barrel shaped cream jug with sections of horizontal ribbing around the foot and rim. Printed with the "Early Peony Print", c.1758-1760, crescent mark to base.
Reference: Worcester Blue & White Porcelain, Branyan, French & Sandon, section II.C.4, described as "very rare". Careful observation of the markings and kiln dust spots it appears this jug is the actual one illustrated. We have not come across another documented example.
