A rare pair of 18th-century English George III antique sterling silver long teaspoons, circa 1770.
Of hallmarking interest, with the maker’s mark struck twice (duty dodger).
Feather-edge pattern, monogrammed E.
The spoons are slightly too long for teacups and were likely used for stirring tea in the pot, as well as for syllabub, posset, and other desserts or drinks served in tall glasses during the Georgian period.
