At DLS Antiques we specialise in fine antique ceramics, both British and continental, and we stock beautiful silver items from the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco periods. I sold my first antique over thirty years ago but we are now a fully online business and therefore all of our items have a full description, including measurements, and they have an accurate condition report that highlight any repairs or restoration. We offer both a UK and international postal service and we have clients all over the world. The prices shown include UK delivery but do please contact for international postal costs and customers are liable for any customs charges that may be payable.

Rare German Porcelain Vintner Figure by Limbach C1780
For offer is a rare porcelain figure of a Vintner produced by the German Limbach factory, often associated with the work of Gotthelf Greiner.
c.1780
These figures are part of the genre of "hardworking peasants" or allegorical series popular in the 1770s-1780s
The attractive figure is standing holding a plate of grapes typically beside a tree stump.
The Limbach factory in Thuringia was known for producing less refined, more rustic, and colourful porcelain compared to Meissen, catering to a different market in the late 18th century.
Height: 14 cm
Width: 5 cm
Condition. For an item nearly 250 years old the figure is generally in very good condition. The figure is lacking the tip of his left foot and there are some very minor losses to the grape foliage. Also a tiny 3 millimetre chip to the rim of his hat that is difficult to discern. No restoration.
