Extremely rare Queen Anne C1700 Malacca wood and silver walking stick or cane. The silver isn't hallmarked, common for this age but has been tested as English standard solid silver. The pommel above the silver collar is decorated with pique decoration, circles of silver punched into the body of the pommel to form the pattern. This is replicated on the top and in bands around the sides as well as around the wrist strap holes. A sturdy Malacca shaft which has it's original finish. This has worn in areas but has never been touched or restored. Retains it's original brass ferrule. Research... Canes this age don't come onto the market often. Researching on the internet the last example similar to this that I found sold went through Christies Interiors Auction 4792 in March 2012 Lot number 475, it sold for £2700.00 Please contact us with any questions you may have. It measures 96 cm 37 3/4 inches in length, the pommel is 4 cm 1 9/16 inches wide and 9.5 cm 3 3/4 inches long.
