Rare "Royle's Patent Toilet Aquarius" c.1891

An extremely rare item manufactured from earthenware in Doulton Burslem, England. An old advertisement shows the "Toilet Aquarius as being a new patented water container for wash stands where no muscular effort is required". The water flows into the bowl by simply pulling forward the handle. No lifting, a boon to ladies and invalids! The device was endorsed by the famous Actress Phyllis Broughton. The underside is marked: Doulton Burslem England,Royle's Patent Toilet Aquarius, Trade Mark, with US Registered trademarks dated 1891.
Bridport Antiques has clarified that the Rare "Royle's Patent Toilet Aquarius" c.1891 (LA75347) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1891
The jug is in immaculate condition, unfortunately, the bowl does have a crack otherwise in good general condition with general signs of age.
