RARE TURLER SILVER & BLUE ENAMEL ANTIQUE GUNMETAL LAPEL BUTTON HOLE WATCH HARD TO FIND SWISS 1880 WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!! A late Victorian/Edwardian gunmetal lapel button hole watch made in Switzerland in 1880, coming in a box. The button hole watch has a silver blue bezel. The button hole watch has an unusually small golden dial with black Arabic numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has nice blued hands. The keyless wind cylinder movement is in working condition; however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch. The gunmetal case has a smooth finish and is numbered: "425224". A side view of the watch shows the central case extension, with the dial housed atop a stalk, allowing this extended housing to be placed through a jacket lapel button hole, to reveal just the dial and conceal the movement housing behind the lapel, thus giving the illusion of a miniature watch. I heard a report about the origin from the name button hole watch, which I don’t know if it holds any truth in it. In the houses of Parliament in London the button watch was worn proudly on the suit. If someone overdid his time of speaking, the button watch was shown to him as a hint and in a way of politeness that his time of speaking is up. I would be glad if someone would let me know more information about this, as I am not sure for this to be true. Diameter [Case] 28 mm. Diameter [Dial] 14 mm The weight is approx. 22.0 grams Swiss Made - 1880
