Description
This is a very rare Victorian bamboo corner armchair of aesthetic design by James Shoolbred, Tottenham Court Road, London. The piece dates from around 1870 and is in the classic aesthetic taste with black lacquered and gilt fan shaped splats, burr wood terminals, and the seat upholstered in leaf design woolwork tapestry.
The chair is in excellent original condition and still retains its manufacturers label to the underside. A very stylish aesthetic classic.
