Rare and interesting late Victorian novelty silver salt tub. This appealing example is formed to represent a Viking ship, with detail to the bow and stern. The interior is richly gilded to protect from salt burn and the tub is fully hallmarked. Victorian society loved novelty items and tableware was a popular choice, being both decorative and practical.
