a very rare oak and walnut documentary welsh vernacular country village made/folk art Queen Anne period (1702-1714) small sized tray-dish topped tripod based candle stand-wine table of fine warm original color and patination,original appiture hole to the top for the placement of an iron rushlight candle holder, with the makers mark carved in the block support(.I.C.) the tray top is made from two pieces of red walnut secured down with hand made period screws, the tray top still retains sections of a wide broad double carved edge with some damages which adds greatly to its overall charm probaly damaged in tavern usage to the centre is an unusual iron rush light aperture. The undercarriage supporting the top has very unusual oak staved boat shaped contoured chamfered slats, affixed below with a further contoured shaped holding block in oak which is of a very unusual construction method technique, thus attached to the robust carved baluster column terminating on short stout queen ann tripod legs, signs of wear to the feet from hundreds of years usage on a stone paved floor, the table is in its original untouched state with hand made screws still affixed to the top, the local blacksmith made 18th century nails are still in place to the undercarriage and the wrought iron tri-plate still intact, all these elements adds to the artifacts great charm and tacticability, old wood-worm holes visable to underside, Great signs of wear and damage consistent with its home, tavern or tea/coffee shop rooms useage over the centuries.
