Wonderful early 19th century sprigged jug with gold accents, a lilac background and contrasting white applied decorations including serpent head spout running around to its tail shaped handle, a couple of Cipriani drawings inspired scenes around the body, namely ''Virtue directed by Prudence to Honor' and 'Innocence taught by Love and Friendship' and, a lower ribbed band, unmarked, attributed to Ridgway, Cauldon place.
In good antique condition with expected age related wear, surface blemishes, some losses to gilt, minor crazing and some splits to applied decorations, a nearly imperceptible and small hairline crack under spout, all commensurate with its age, no other issue noticed, please refer to detailed photos provided.
Approximately 9cm tall with a maximum diameter of 9cm and, weighs 200g.
