Royal Doulton Series Ware Jug; Diversions of Uncle Toby

Royal Doulton created a range of Series Ware items celebrating all manner of topical themes of the time. This series features the Diversions of Uncle Toby who is taken from the novel Tristam Shandy. Tristam Shandy has an Uncle Toby and this series celebrates how he would have amused himself. This is a very rare Royal Doulton Series Ware jug. This series is "The Diversions of Uncle Toby" or "Old English Games". The series was introduced in 1909 and retired in 1930, it was a small series only found on 3 items; a rack plate, a small jug and this jug. It is now very rare. This jug features Bowls.
