Description

This brass plaque of Saint Cecilia would I believe date to the end of the 1800's or beginning of the 1900's. The image of Saint Cecilia is beautiful and I can understand how this would be attractive during this period as she is very reminiscent of the Pre Raphaelite images of women. There is a a little shelf like attachment which has been cast to the back of the frame where a ring could be applied to hang it from.

The Three MusCATeers has clarified that the Saint Cecilia After Donatello Brass Plaque (LA386436) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1900

The plaque is in good condition. There are a couple of signs of light wear to her hair just above the hairline and to the pattern of her dress. There is a couple of marks on her neck and there is also signs of old polish.
