Made by famous 19th century silversmith Sampson Mordan this is a Commissioned Invitation Card Case Solid Silver owned by the prominent Dublin Family The Ferriers in 1856. Passed down to E.k Ferrier who soon married. By this time which would have been towards the latter part of the 19th Century, owning such an elaborate silver case was well above her then upper middle class status so we are sure this was a much cherished Item. A unique piece in it's own right carrying with it great provenance, especially in Ireland where we suspect there will be a lot of interest once we begin the search for the right auction house in or around Dublin no Doubt. Weighing around 107g, this is without doubt one of the most beautiful examples of Sampson Mordan's Work. Size" 4" Tall x 2.8" Wide in excellent undamaged condition as shown with minimal signs of wear in keeping with the age and Use. The detail is incredible. Free Uk postage and packaged with great care.
