Description
An exceptionally rare Scottish antique gold and agate brooch. Made by McKay and Chisholm of Princess Street in Edinburgh around 1880. It has a butterfly made from agates set into the 9ct. gold brooch. It is marked "M+C" "9" on the reverse. Made from very finely cut agates and beautifully engraved 9ct gold. A very useable and collectable Scottish gold brooch. It comes boxed although not the original one.
