Description
An attractive mid 19th century mahogany longcase clock, of a typical Scottish drumhead form. The case has a circular hood with a carved cresting and a long glazed door and a bombe shaped base. Visible within the door are the brass weights and wood rod brass pendulum. It has a white and gilt enamel dial, showing a subsidiary date and seconds dial which is signed by the maker A.Paxton of Airdrie, near Glasgow. The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a gong.
