Description
An unusual, possibly rare, sterling silver "Mystical beast" brooch by Hamish Dawson-Bowman of Celtic Art Industries fame, from a design by Alexander and Euphemia Ritchie as recalled and copied by Ian MacCormick, he possibly made this one as at that time he was working for Dawson-Bowman, as the circle next to the Db mark is associated with other Imc marks.
Picture 6 is the way MacCormick illustrated this brooch and presumably, that would be the correct way to wear it;
Marked to the reverse with Dawson-Bowmans D over B mark, "Scotland --Sterling".
