Scottish Provincial Silver Antique Elgin ladle - William Ferguson c.1829

A very rare antique Scottish Provincial silver toddy ladle. Made in Elgin by William Ferguson around 1828. Ferguson was an accomplished itinerant silversmith who worked in several towns travelling around looking for commissions. His best work was probably done in Elginin the early 19th century. The ladle has a crisp set of makers and town marks as well as owner's initials on the terminal. This ladle is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. Weight; 44 grams approximately.
