Description
This is a brilliant Scottish long sword sterling silver, agate and orange paste brooch. Assayed and hallmarked in Glasgow in 1950 and made by Ward Bros. in Glasgow. Over 3 inches long and set with a orange paste stone in the handle with bloodstone, banded agate (fractional mark to one edge) and jasper long thin stones in the blade and the exposed silver to the front, finished with a knurled pattern. To the reverse is a pin protector type closure.
